At Penwortham Dental, we offer a combination of cosmetic dental treatments and wrinkle removal techniques to help patients feel and look younger through brighter smiles and smoother skin.
Our dentists are IHAS-registered so they are trained and experienced in wrinkle reduction methods such as botulinum toxin, dermal fillers and other facial aesthetic treatments.
Whilst some wrinkle removal techniques have received negative attention over the years, we specialise in creating a natural and subtle look through the careful and considered use of fillers and other injectable treatments.
At Penwortham dental we use Restylane (a dermal filler) and Azzalure (botulinum toxin). These are clinically proven wrinkle-reducing products which help our patients achieve their desired look.
What is Botulinum toxin?
Commonly referred to as Botox, Azzalure is a botulinum toxin Type A. It is a widely used, safe and effective way to banish the signs of ageing.
Azzalure works by temporarily preventing the facial nerves from responding to stimuli. This means that when the face is resting (not smiling or frowning), the frown lines or other wrinkles which have formed over time will appear softened and ‘filled’. As the botulinum toxin restricts the movement of facial muscles, when you laugh, frown or make any other facial expressions your skin will be less prone to creasing.
Azzalure is used to treat a range of problem areas such as:
- Forehead creases
- Frown lines
- Lines or crow’s feet at the outer corner of your eyes
- Lines that have formed above the lip
Your treatment
We offer free consultations to patients considering wrinkle reduction treatment. Our dentists will use a facial diagram so you can show us your areas of concern. They will answer any questions and recommend the best type of treatment for you.
If you decide to go ahead with treatment we will take pictures of your face, provide pricing information and book your first appointment.
We use ultra-fine needles to administer Azzalure. This is a relatively pain-free method but we also offer numbing agents prior to treatment for your added comfort. The process should take between 15-20 minutes and the effects will last for up to four months.
Immediately after treatment you might notice some redness or swelling but these symptoms will disappear within the hour.
